Bedrosian military commander. Rigar's hatred for the enemy nation of Optricans stretches beyond the rational. He studied the religious text known as the Book of Nefertum cover-to-cover and determined that it is true, that Nefertum created humans on Bedrosia -- and that their people did not come through a great portal from a far-away world, as the Optricans believe.
Rigar captured SG-1 and the Bedrosian Nyan after Mallin, Nyan's associate, turned the group in to the authorities. Rigar held them for questioning (which included torture), believing entirely that they were part of some elaborate Optrican ploy.
SG-1 escaped through the Stargate with Nyan in the midst of a firefight with Rigar's squad. Though he witnessed the gate in action it is not known if he was ever convinced of the truth.
New Ground - Rigar reports to the dig site of a massive circular device, the same as described in the Optrican beliefs, and is eager to cover up the evidence, despite the truth.
