Lieutenant, member of SG-6. He and his unit were sent undercover to P2X-885 to monitor the activity of the Ori Priors and their efforts to convert the population to Origin.

Ryan and his teammate Lieutenant Fischer attended morning Prostration two days before their departure back to Earth. There, the Prior preached and went around blessing the people. He touched Fischer's head. Thinking nothing of it, the Lieutenant did not place it in his report.

Airman Ryan later fell ill with the Prior plague, indicating that unlike Fischer he was not a carrier.
