Major, commander of SG-9. Benton led his unit to Latona to reopen negotiations with the people after tensions between the two worlds snapped, thanks to a Rogue N.I.D. operation years before.
Benton was retreating with the rest of his team to the Stargate when he was shot in the chest by one of Svarog's Jaffa. He and his team had spent the past few months' negotiation for access to the Sentinel.
