This. Is. Cool.
Stargate Atlantis fan Jacob Yarmuth has built a custom-made, state-of-the-art home theater themed to Stargate. It includes a Stargate around the 96-inch digital screen, a starscape ceiling, and an Atlantis-style entryway.

The hardware includes a 7-channel surround sound system, Sony “megachangers” that can accommodate some 800 DVDs, THX speakers, and more.
The whole project ran an estimated $70,000.
Check out more photos at Electronic House! And Jacob, you can invite us over for an SGA marathon any time. We’ll bring the tava beans.

$70,000? Kinda cool in a way, but people like that just have way too much money.
WHY AM I NOT INVITED.
This is AWESOME! it is actually my dream to model a house after Destiny! bridge = ultimate gaming room. obesrvation deck = home theatre (window is a giant flatscreen.) mess hall = dining room. gate room = grand entrance room. hydroponics = indoor swimming pool and garden. and have all the doors working in the same fasion. It would be awesome!
this guy got ripped off
Wow.
Agree about the more money than sense thought, but look at all the work and money he gave someone (or many someones) to get it built!
Its a beautiful and amazing piece of work, worthy of the USS Enterprise D bridge that was constructed for the Star Trek Experience.
However – (I cringe at pointing this out) The Gate itself is inaccurate! Its using the Milky Way constellation glyph patterns from the SG1 Gates, rather than the dot matrix style ones of the Pegasus gates.
Darren what are Tava beans?
Man…ppl like this make me convince that Stargate Atlantis movie can be made with kickstarter effort. Make it happen already!!
Tava beans are a common crop in the Pegasus Galaxy. They got several mentions in Season One when the expedition was cut off from Earth and looking for trading partners for food and supplies.
This dude is insane…but I love it!!
This is so cool. Love to see the Atlantis love!! And like someone above said, the money spent went into the economy and provided someone with a job. More people should build Stargate homes!
@ Darren. Thanks, SG1 is on cable at my end, hopefully they will do Atlantis in time so I can fill the blanks!
I sure hope the remote is in the form of a DHD!
well it is cool, but poorly designed in my opinion. what’s really baffling me though is that you all don’t already know about it. this is old news, i remember reading about this years ago. not sure how many years, but at least a few. did gw loose its network of informants or something? i used to come here to see important news before it was anywhere else, but now i only see news on here days or weeks after i already know about it. case in point… (besides this article), there’s some big stargate news right now. go find… Read more »
That is sweet and I want one. We can shoot the Atlantis movie in his living room lol.
96″ screen and he’s still using DVDs? I think I just puked in my mouth.. lol
(yes I know that most Stargate isn’t out on Blu-Ray yet)
Surprised at all the people giving him flak for this. It’s his money he can do what he wants. I would have thought Stargate fans would appreciate what he’s done here.
Also surprised GateWorld didn’t see this earlier (article is from 2009)…hasn’t it been posted in the forums a couple of times? I remember seeing it a year or two ago in amongst a few other cool themed home theaters. The Enterprise bridge being one of them from TNG I believe. Awesome stuff.
Nice I wonder how many Z.P.M.’s this home theater runs off of
deval96 dream house you should have just bought SG-U’s sound stage and sets lol
Yeah but not all of it is operational/would fit in properly. most of it would be plastic aswell anyway, so it wouldnt feel right. i want proper rusted metal :D
