Hot on the heels of the release of the U.S.S. George Hammond comes the U.S.S. Odyssey, the hero ship featured in the final seasons of Stargate SG-1.
Master Replicas will open pre-orders for the model this week on its Web site, with the Odyssey shipping starting on June 1.
The Hammond model was released as a limited exclusive for paying members of the Master Replicas Collector Club, and all 500 units sold out. Club members will also have early access to order the Odyssey first, starting Thursday, April 11.
The Odyssey will then become available to the general public on Friday, April 12. The ship will sell for $59.99 (£54.99, €59.99).
First introduced in the ninth season episode “Off the Grid,” Odyssey operated in the Milky Way Galaxy in support of SG-1 and other teams from Stargate Command, tangling primarily with the forces of the Ori and the Lucian Alliance. The ship’s first commander was Colonel Paul Emerson (played by Matthew Glave), followed by Colonel Davidson (Fulvio Cecere).
It was the Odyssey that received the Asgard database upgrades in the show’s final episode, and that traveled to the Ori home galaxy in the movie Stargate: The Ark of Truth.
As with the Hammond, the Odyssey model appears to be identical to the previously released Daedalus — though with its own name emblazoned on the side. This is show-accurate, as Earth created a line of identical deep space carriers from Daedalus, Odyssey, and Apollo through the Korolev, Sun Tzu, and the Hammond. We’re expecting that all of these ships will eventually join the line-up of officially licensed models.
Meanwhile Master Replicas tells GateWorld that the next ship in the series will be the much-anticipated Puddle Jumper. Keep your browser locked here for the latest intel and an exclusive early peek at the design!
The one I’d really love to get is the BC-303 Prometheus.
