The first trailer has arrived for Syfy Channel’s new sci-fi drama Dark Matter, created by former Stargate writer-producers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. Check it out below!
The 13-episode season is currently filming in Toronto, and makes its premiere on Friday, June 12 (10/9c).
The 1-minute teaser shows off the first footage from the show, which follows the crew of a derelict space ship who awaken from stasis with no memories of who they are or how they got on board.
In addition to lots of Stargate talent behind the scenes (including directors Andy Mikita, Amanda Tapping, and Martin Wood), the show’s main cast includes one-time Stargate guest stars Roger R. Cross (“Captain Conner”) and Jodelle Ferland (Young Adria, Harmony).
Marc Bendavid, Melissa O’Neil, Anthony Lemke, Alex Mallari, Jr., and Zoie Palmer also star. And David Hewlett (“Rodney McKay”) has a major recurring role.

Heck yes I’m going to be watching this show! It has a distinct Stargate feel to it… long awaited return of Stargate talent behind the scenes!!
oh yea, this looks good. Sort of SGU reborn, dark and gritty. Not your grandpa’s Stargate…
