Stargate‘s competition in the race for Best Syndicated / Cable Series includes Battlestar Galactica, The Closer, Dexter, Doctor Who, Eureka, and Kyle XY.
Stargate SG-1 won this award in 2000, 2004, and 2005 (story). It was nominated last year, losing out to Galactica.
The Best Series nod is Stargate‘s only nomination this year in a field dominated by the resurgence of genre television on the major broadcast networks. ABC’s Lost leads the 2007 nominations with six; NBC’s Heroes received five nominations. Also represented are such series as 24, Smallville, Jericho, and Veronica Mars.
SCI FI’s Battlestar Galactica also earned four nominations.
