SGU comes to syndication, Atlantis sticks around

Stargate Universe is headed to U.S. syndication next week, the newest member of the franchise’s 12-year run there.  Season One premieres with “Air, Part 1” on local stations around the country during the week of September 13.

Most stations air syndicated drama on Saturdays and/or Sundays, so check your local listings to find SGU.  FOX affiliate stations are common, but it varies from market to market.  Odds are, if a station has carried SG-1 and Atlantis in syndication for the past several years, that’s where you’ll find Universe, as well.

The final episode of Stargate Atlantis bowed in May … but that doesn’t mean John Sheppard and the team are ready to call it quits.  MGM is keeping the team in syndication for another year, offering local stations a package of Seasons Four and Five — run straight through each week, from “Adrift” to “Enemy At the Gate,” with no repeats.

Check your local listings to see if there is a station in your town that is airing SGA.

  • I don't understand. Does this mean SG-1 will no longer air? I noticed SyFy has scheduled the show to broadcast in the wee hours beginning in October, and certainly the scheduling has been iffy for a while, but I hope this doesn't mean we'll lose SG-1.

  • SG-1 hasn't aired in the syndication market for the past two years. Nothing here applies to Syfy Channel, which continues to show SG-1 repeats (most) weeknights at 6 p.m. E/P.

  • rac80 is right. I rarely watch SG-1 or SGA when it's on TV. I just pull out my DVDs when I feel a Gate craving.

  • While watching the DVDs (or BluRays) is awesome, when watching the TV re-runs, you know other fans are also watching at the same time.

  • Now, I don't quite understand what symdocation means, but I know that Sratgate's so awesome, that they're sending it every Friday in Norway <3 On a channel called Viasat4.
I think they finished SGU a couple of weeks ago and are planning to show season 2 also :3

  • I can't pass up a re-run if I happen to stumble upon it. However since Netflix finally has all ep's of SG1, SGA and SGU on watch it now I can't get enough. So many episodes, so little time.
