Small, portable Athosian device capable of emitting a laser beam to start a fire, from lighting a torch or candle to a setting for cooking meals.
The fire-starter technology is evidence that Teyla's people are more advanced than they appear to be. While they continue to use easy-to-conceal devices like this, they do not allow themselves to advance technologically as a method of trying to keep the Wraith at bay.
