“Carl [Binder] and I just handed in our firsts drafts of the mid-season two-parter, currently titled: ‘Lost Boys’ and ‘The Hive,’” Gero told fans at GateWorld Forum.
Plot info for the episodes is not yet available, but Gero has previously stated that the two-parter will reveal much of the Wraith species’s backstory. The summer season is expected to end with “Lost Boys” in September, with “The Hive” kicking off the winter season in January.
Gero also revealed that “a certain pony tailed, nay-sayer” may likely return in Season Two — no doubt referring to love him or hate him Dr. Kavanagh (Ben Cotton), last seen criticizing Dr. Weir’s command decisions in “Letters From Pegasus.”
“As of Season Two there are a lot more [military] officers on Atlantis,” Gero added, “most notably a new character named Major Lorne, who will be in a number of episodes this year.” Lorne will first appear in the season’s third episode, “Runner.”
