Richard Kind returns to Stargate

Actor Richard Kind will return to the Stargate universe after more than a decade, according to the lastest blog update from series script coordinator Alex Levine. Kind played Stargate research scientist Dr. Gary Meyers in the original 1994 film, “Stargate.”The 49-year-old actor has also appeared in such series as Spin City, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Scrubs, Mad About You, and Space: Above And Beyond.Though several supporting characters made the leap from the big screen to the television series — some of whom were even played by the same actor, including Skaara (Alexis Cruz) and Kasuf (Erick Avari) — Gary Meyers was not one of them.Kind will apparently appear in an upcoming episode of Stargate Atlantis, according to Levine — making it perhaps less likely that he will be reprising his role from the film. No further details on Kind’s appearance are available yet.Stick with GateWorld for the latest!
