The company is expanding its Stargate line to include 12-inch action figures, while continuing to release standard-sized figures based on characters and props from SG-1 and Atlantis.
“Each [12-inch] figure will feature 26 points of articulation and fully-detailed cloth outfits based on the record-breaking Sci-Fi Channel original series,” said Diamond Select in a press release. “Series-accurate accessories will be included with each figure, with two additional characters already finishing development.”
The Jack O’Neill figure shown above is the fifth the company has released (three figures in series 1, and one figure in the upcoming fourth series).
Series Four of SG-1 and Series 1 of Atlantis figures are currently set to deliver on December 19, 2008. The release dates of both sets have been pushed back several times. Atlantis Series 2 is slated to appear on shelves in late March, 2008.
Series 1 of SG-1 has appreciated in value substantially since its release in 2006, with eBay buyers spending as much as three times the amount of money for the full set of toys compared to when they were first available.
