Stargate Atlantis is headed to Las Vegas for a very “C.S.I.” episode, set to air nineteenth this season — the last episode before the January series finale. Writer-director Robert C. Cooper offered a few new hints at the upcoming episode “Vegas” in a new interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
“Vegas” is “an alternate reality story” that is set on “a slightly askew version of Earth,” Cooper told the newspaper. In that world, John Sheppard became a homicide detective.
But don’t expect the episode to avoid a very science fiction tie-in to Stargate Atlantis‘s mythology. Sheppard finds himself tracking a Wraith, played by Neil Jackson (“Khalek”), who uses make-up to blend in among humans.
The Wraith even ends up in a high-stakes poker game with Sopranos veterans Steve Schirripa and Frank Vincent.
The episode will also feature such Vegas-based action as a 9-story fall by a stunt performer, and scenes inside and in front of the Planet Hollywood casino, the paper said.
