Former Stargate SG-1 guest star Morena Baccarin is going from commanding an alien invasion in V to Showtime’s new original drama Homeland.
The series tells the story of a CIA operative who investigates an American soldier who has returned home after being missing in action for several years. While the man, Sgt. Nick Brody, attempts to readjusting to life back home, Carrie Anderson (Claire Danes) obtains intel that he may have been turned by Al-Qaeda and sent home as a sleeper terrorist.
Baccarin will play Jessica Brody, the wife of the soldier, described by the network as a major role. (The role was originally played by Laura Fraser in the show’s pilot.)
Baccarin played Adria, leader of the Ori forces, in the final two seasons of SG-1 and the first SG-1 movie, The Ark of Truth.
Homeland also stars Claire Danes, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Patinkin, and premieres this fall on Showtime. The pedigree for the writers and producers include Dexter and 24. Watch a teaser trailer for the show below.

I loved her in V!!! She is so sexy!!!! She is a great actress too!!! Too bad V was canceled too. All of my favorite shows this year have been canceled. Except for Fox Animation Domination, they need to cancel Bobs Burgers, in my humble opinion. V was a great remake and Firefly was a good show too!!! I still think she was the best as Adria, queen of the Ori!!!
I cant lie... I am totally in love with Morena Baccarin!! I think she is the most beautiful woman in the world, and she is a strong woman, and very educated, in my book she is a solid 10!
Even though I don't normally watch non sci-fi/fantasy shows, this actually looks interesting. I just hope they don't put the usual political spin on this that networks like to do sometimes. Morena is a talented, beautiful actress who has been on two hit sci-fi series (Firefly and Stargate - V doesn't count since it hasn't picked up the way either of those did), if Jeri Ryan can find work on a hit series on ABC post-Voyager then Morena should have no problem at all.
Major role? I didn't see her once in the teaser.
Maybe that's because she apparently didn't play the character in the pilot?

Morena is an amazing woman and an amazing actress.As it's already been mentioned Firefly,one of the best pieces of sci-fi and television in general,much ahead it's time unfortunately and with another misfortune of being on FOX,network famous of killing of good,most specifically sci-fi shows.Adria in SG-1 and even V-2009.That show really did have problems in the beginning and was pretty uneven,but in the 2nd season I felt it'd found it's legs and just when it became really good,it was canceled.Oh well,anyway..I'm just glad we'll be able to see this beautiful and already legendary actress within a sci-fi genre in a new project.Project that regardless of her seems to me quite interesting and full of potential.Of course,we're all have to see it to say anything more about it.
