Roving news reporter in the Washington D.C. area. Selig learned of the existence of the Stargate program beneath the sub-levels of N.O.R.A.D. at Cheyenne Mountain through a confidential informant.

When Jack O'Neill and Samantha Carter traveled to the U.S. capital for a commendation ceremony Selig cornered Jack in a bar. O'Neill claimed ignorance, but later met with Selig to discuss the situation. Despite O'Neill's continued cover-up, Selig persisted -- but he was hit by an automobile and killed.

Selig died without revealing his source, though the team suspected it may have been Senator Kinsey, who had proved himself hostile to the program's continued existence.
