Garry Chalk stepping up in Season Nine?

Actor Garry Chalk may be returning to Stargate SG-1 in a more prominent role, according to a fan report from last weekend’s SG-9 convention in London. The actor plays Colonel Chekov, Russia’s liaison to Stargate Command, on the long-running series.

According to the report, the actor confirmed on Saturday that he had been asked to return to the show during Season Nine, and that he had been told he would be more involved in running the S.G.C.

Chalk made his SG-1 debut in Season Five’s “The Tomb.” He has appeared in six episodes to date, most recently in this season’s “Full Alert.”

We’ll be able to confirm the news when details about specific Season Nine episodes begin to come out.
