First story info on Atlantis‘s ‘Sateda’

GateWorld has uncovered the first details on the plot of “Sateda,” an upcoming episode of Stargate Atlantis focusing on Ronon Dex’s (Jason Momoa) past. The episode is being written by executive producer Robert C. Cooper, and will be directed by Martin Wood.Beware of spoilers in the report below!Sheppard’s team visits a forested world, only to quickly fall under attack. McKay escapes back to Atlantis, but Sheppard, Teyla, and Ronon are shot with tranquilizer darts and captured. Ronon realizes that he has been to this planet before, when he was on the run from the Wraith. Because he was implanted with a tracking device, they followed him to this world and culled it while in search of him. Many were taken, and the village was nearly destroyed. The three awaken in a sparse cell, where Ronon is challenged by the village leader, Keturah. He and his people deeply resent Ronon for what happened to them, after they had tended to his wounds and given him food and shelter. Among their village Ronon is appropriately called “the Wraithbringer.”But the Wraith have promised Ketulah that if Ronon ever returned, they would be spared from future cullings if they handed him over to them. And that is just what he intends to do. He has activated a Wraith transmitter to summon them. With intel from McKay on what happened, Major Lorne proposes leading a strike team to rescue their captured people. Dr. Weir is hesitant to use military force against such a simple people, but she may have no choice if the villagers will not respond to her attempts to communicate. When the Wraith arrive Ronon is turned over to them, and soon finds himself a Runner once more. They return him to his homeworld of Sateda, decimated by the Wraith years ago. As he attempts to elude a team of Wraith hunters through the rubble of his once great civilization, Ronon is haunted by memories of his past. His only hope is if Colonel Sheppard and the team can gain their freedom and find him … before the Wraith hunters do.Guest characters include Keturah, Linor (a young woman from the village who took care of Ronon years ago), and Lorne (Kavan Smith).”Sateda” will go before cameras in mid-March, and is expected to air as the third episode of Season Three.
