Introducing: GateWorld 2.0!

To celebrate 10 years of Stargate, we’re pleased to launch the brand new GateWorld 2.0 to coincide with today’s world premiere of the two-hundredth episode of Stargate SG-1!

By now you have already noticed the radically different (in our opinion, for the better) site design, provided by our brilliant Web designer Gilles Nuytens (The Scifi World). We hope that you will find the new site nice to look at and easy to use.

Everything that readers expect at GateWorld is still here, from our in-depth episode analysis and exhaustive Stargate Omnipedia to news, episode photos and spoiler reports, editorials, fan fiction, and more. But we’ve also added lots of brand new content to the site! Here’s what you can check out right now:

• Interviews – Don’t miss not just one, but three all-new interviews this week! GateWorld sits down with Torri Higginson, Beau Bridges, and Atlantis writer Carl Binder.
• Video Games – After months of planning, we’re thrilled to roll out a brand new section of the site! Look for the entire history of Stargate games — back to the old 1980s series and the movie pinball table — in the remodeled Franchise section of GateWorld. Includes release info, screen grabs, reviews, and more.
• Comics – Our Stargate comic book section has been completely updated and expanded! In addition to the current SG-1 and the new Atlantis series, we’ve added a wealth of material on the 1990s comic book series based on the “Stargate” feature film, before SG-1 ever came to be! This rare material is not to be missed.
• Books – This section has also been updated and expanded, and now includes complete summaries, notes, and reviews of the Bill McCay novel series.
• The Stargate Omnipedia – Updated with new entries from last week’s “Progeny!” Watch the Omnipedia for new special appendices in the future. You can also now visit it via StargateOmnipedia.com!
• Ask Sen’il – Our goddess Sen’il’s newest column is now online. Submit to her!
• Convention Galleries – 85 new images from Comic-Con 2005, Shore Leave 28, and Comic-Con 2006 have been published.
• Stargate Infinity – Over 130 screen captures have been added for “Decision,” “Double Duty,” “The Best World,” and “Who Are You?”
• New SG-1 and Atlantis episode summaries from past and current seasons
• Complete episode transcripts from Stargate Atlantis‘s new season!
• New polling system! Just mouse over the colored bar to rate the latest episode, or go back and vote for episodes of the past.
• Video features converted to QuickTime for improved ease of use

And we have lots more in the works, of course, including a new Toys section, contests and give-aways, and more.
