Atlantis earns two Gemini nods

Stargate Atlantis has earned two Gemini nominations in this year’s Gemini Awards, honoring the best in television and film produced in Canada. The awards are widely regarded as “Canada’s Emmys.”

Martin Gero’s “McKay and Mrs. Miller” earned a nomination for Best Writing in a Dramatic Series. Meanwhile, Season Three’s opener “No Man’s Land” is up for Best Visual Effects.

In 2006 the Gemini Awards recognized Atlantis with a ‘Best Sound in a Dramatic Series’ nomination for “The Hive.” Sister show Stargate SG-1 was nominated for four Geminis, two in visual effects.

Awards will be presented on Sunday, October 28. Visit GeminiAwards.ca for a complete list of this year’s nominees!
