GateWorld launches Stargate Image Gallery

GateWorld is proud to announce the newest addition to the site, the Stargate Image Gallery! Accessible from StargateGallery.com and from the “Images” option on GateWorld’s main menu, the gallery boasts more than 200,000 photos and high-quality DVD screen captures!

Each season is divided into two sections: Promotional Photos and Screen Captures. For the former, we’ve dug deep into GateWorld’s archives to find the highest quality images we have for every episode, as well as season-by-season cast photography. Most photos from recent seasons are available in high-resolution, and (when still available) photos no longer bear the “GateWorld” logo tag.

To create the massive image repository, a group of highly committed fans also teamed up to watch and capture screen shots from all ten seasons of Stargate SG-1, three seasons of Stargate Atlantis, one season of Stargate Infinity, plus the original “Stargate” movie and the newest DVD release, Stargate: The Ark of Truth.

With Stargate Atlantis Season Four officially releasing on DVD this week, we will work to add the DVD screen captures gallery for those 20 episodes in the days ahead. Also watch for the Stargate: Continuum movie caps in August. More than 80 high-quality set photos from the next movie are already available.

When complete through Season Four of Atlantis, the gallery will boast nearly a quarter of a million images from the history of Stargate — between 500 and 1,000 high-quality images per episode.

We hope that this unprecedented new image repository will match The Stargate Omnipedia (also available through StargateOmnipedia.com) as an invaluable resource for Stargate fans, licensees, and even studio members looking for reference material.
