If the flashing lights are essentially the genius loci, then let us hope they have the testicular fortitude to continue along this path, and not drop this deux ex machina the start of season two like so many shows has done in the past.
The cause of the flashing lights is due to Destiny being in close proximity to a pulsar, I have no idea where you got the idea that is is genius loci
My guess: Dr. Franklin, when finished with using the chair, was "absorbed" into the ship and is using it to help defend our heroes against the Lucian Alliance incursion. But it's just a guess.
@ xandder perhaps, or as PIONEERING said it's Franklin, because, if all of this is simply due to a pulsar---BARF!!!
