U.S.S. Hammond : Check Out The Next Stargate Ship Model

Another ship is rolling off the production line for Stargate model collectors, and this one has a familiar face.

As we told you about back in December, the U.S.S. George Hammond will be available from Master Replicas as a Collector Club exclusive. Now the ship is coming up for pre-order, available to club members starting Thursday, March 28, and shipping in early June.

This is a limited edition model, with just 500 units being produced.

As with its television counterpart, the Hammond model looks the same as its predecessor the U.S.S. Daedalus (an Earth-made ship first introduced in the second season of Stargate Atlantis). The BC-304 deep space carrier is distinguished by the ship’s name emblazoned on the side of the hull:

The Hammond was first mentioned in the Atlantis finale as the new name given to Earth’s latest battle-cruiser, originally to be christened the Phoenix. (That version of the ship was in an alternate timeline in the fourth season finale, “The Last Man.”) The Hammond made its on-screen debut in the Stargate Universe premiere, “Air, Part 1,” and returned at the end of the season for “Incursion, Part 1.” Its commander is none other than Colonel Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping).

This is the sixth ship in the Stargate model series, which Eaglemoss started with its “Hero Collector” brand in 2021 before going out of business the next year. Master Replicas picked up the remaining stock, and in 2023 signed its own license with MGM to continue production.

Models already released out into the wild include the Daedalus, Ha’tak-class Goa’uld mothership, Death Glider, F-302, and Prometheus.

Master Replicas’ Collector Club is a paid subscription program, which offers fans a chance to buy exclusive items from a variety of genre shows as well as a 10% discount on purchases, 24-hour early access to order other items before they are released to the public, and an invitation to online events with cast and crew. So far this year that’s included a gathering with Star Trek: Picard writer and executive producer Terry Matalas, and another with Battlestar Galactica co-star Jamie Bamber (“Lee Adama”). An annual membership costs $99.00.

Following the release of the Hammond, future exclusives for the Collector Club will include the Tachi (from The Expanse) and the Fourth Doctor’s TARDIS from Doctor Who.

What’s up next for the Stargate ships? While the company hasn’t made any formal announcements yet, Master Replicas has told GateWorld that they intend to complete Eaglemoss’s original plans — which also include the Puddle Jumper, Beliskner (Thor’s Asgard mothership), Wraith Dart, Destiny, and Destiny shuttle.
