We know from episodes like “Critical Mass” (in which she performed the song “Beyond the Night”) that Stargate Atlantis co-star Rachel Luttrell has enough musical talent to fill a Wraith hive ship. Now the actress-turned-singer is prepping her debut album.
I Wish You Love will be released in February of 2011, and from the sounds of the behind-the-scenes video just released by Rachel, it will feature some smooth jazz to accompany her dulcet tones. Check it out below!
Luttrell played Teyla Emmagan for five seasons on Stargate Atlantis.
Turning to music doesn’t mean that she is giving up acting, however. She tweeted last month that she was “playing a cop on a cop show” filming in Vancouver, and working with Steven Seagal. Seagal’s new scripted series, Southern Justice, has been filming a 13-episode first season and will be shopped to U.S. networks. (Check out Moviehole for more on the series.)

Great news for Rachel!
We soooooooooooooooo miss you in Atlantis Rachel! Wishing you luck! ;-)
I've loved Rachel for years! I wish her all the luck in the music industry. Hope to see her back on TV soon though. Some movie roles wouldn't be a bad thing either!
yes it was her singing on that ep. in fact the commentary on that ep said they had to go back and rerecord the audio track a second time because her voice sounded too polished.
Good for Rachel!
Yep it was Rachel that did the singing.
What? No spaceships?
That's really good news. Rachel has a wonderful voice. Can't await the album!
ABOUT TIME!! I would love to have gotten a recording of Beyond the Night. I at least thought it would be on the soundtrack, but noooo!
Great news. Look foward to the album.
