Claudia Black To Appear On The CW’s Roswell Reboot

Claudia Black’s science fiction and fantasy résumé just keeps growing.

The Stargate SG-1 and Farscape veteran will add another genre series to her credits this season. She’s booked a role on the upcoming CW drama Roswell, New Mexico, TV Line reports.

Black (Stargate’s Vala Mal Doran) will play Ann Evans, the adoptive mother of main characters Max (Nathan Parsons) and Isobel (Lily Cowles). Ann is described as “Polished and warm-hearted,” who “blames herself for not being able to connect with her children. Granted, she doesn’t realize that Max and Isobel and have been keep a pretty massive secret from her all their lives. (Psst … They’re aliens!)”

The role is expected to be recurring.

Claudia’s last turn as Vala (and the Goa’uld Qetesh) was in the 2008 movie Stargate: Continuum.

Roswell, New Mexico tells the story of the daughter of undocumented immigrants (played by Jeanine Mason) who returns to her home town and reconnects with her teenage crush, Max — only to discover that he is an alien who has kept his special abilities a secret his entire life. Take a peek at the trailer below.

Like Roswell, which ran from 1999 to 2002 on The WB and UPN in the United States, the new show is based on the Roswell High book series by Melinda Metz. It bows at mid-season, likely in early 2019.

The adoptive mother character was named Diane Evans in the previous adaptation, portrayed on screen by Mary Ellen Trainor. (In the “six degrees of Stargate separation” game, Trainor played Corin Nemec’s mother in 90s comedy Parker Lewis Can’t Lose.)

Since her time on Stargate Claudia Black has also appeared on Syfy’s Haven and the CW vampire drama The Originals. She starred in the 2016 CW series Containment, which ran for one season. And she has done extensive voice work for major video games, including titles such as Gears of War 4, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, and the Destiny series.

  • Desde su aparicion a finales de SG1 con su personaje de "Vala" fue el tipico personaje que actuaba como el payaso sin gracia, para mi fue un patetico personaje producto de algun productor con necesidad de rellenar con algo mas.
