An Old-Fashioned Stargate SG-1 Marathon Is Coming to Pluto TV

Ready to dive back into the Stargate all over again? Over-the-top streaming service Pluto TV is getting ready to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Stargate SG-1 next month with a special marathon event.

Yep, 25 years. We checked the math. You really are that old. But if it makes you feel any better … so am I!

Pluto will stream its 2-day marathon on July 27 and 28, according to Cord Cutters News. Episodes are available through Pluto’s app and its Web site on the service’s new Stargate channel. The channel normally runs episodes of Stargate SG-1, Stargate Atlantis, and Stargate Universe 24 hours a day, 7 days per week — all free to viewers in the United States, and supported by ads.

Episodes are also available on demand, in case you have a hankering for a particular episode.

Although Pluto TV is available in more than 20 countries, unfortunately at last check the service has the rights to stream Stargate only in the United States. International rights are a complex thing for studios like MGM, which licenses each of the shows to different local partners under different terms in territories around the world.

The July marathon will focus on Stargate SG-1, though Pluto TV hasn’t stated how long it will be. We also don’t know whether episodes will run sequentially from the first episode, or if the service will perhaps present a marathon of fan favorites instead.

SG-1 premiered on Showtime in the U.S. on July 27, 1997.
