Officer of high leadership within the Lucian Alliance, lieutenant of Netan. Karug held the rank of "First," attending a high-profile banquet aboard Netan's flagship. Here he was informed that Netan had been approached by Anateo, who complained that too many of his planets had been captured by the Ori, and that Netan would have been wise to allow Anateo to kill Karug and take his territories for himself.

Karug's commitment to Netan's leadership was likely strengthened when their associate, Gavos, was murdered in cold blood by Netan.
