Lieutenant and member of SG-5. Barber visited P4X-347 with the rest of his team and Dr. Daniel Jackson and was exposed to the light emitter for a substantial period of time.
He returned to Earth and had been waiting for the completion of a translation from 347 but, within 48 hours, became so overwhelmed with depression he committed suicide by flinging himself into the unstable energy vortex of the Stargate.
