Firstman

Field officer rank in the Ori military forces. The Firstman commands a squadron of soldiers in a ground deployment, giving orders to the men and often taking point in combat actions. The Firstman's chief task on the ground is to ensure -- by force -- a population's accession to Origin and the worship of the Ori as gods.

Lower in rank than a Commander, the Firstman is recognizable by a leather sash worn diagonally across the front of his armor.
