Father to Abu and leader of the Shavadai tribe on the Shavadai homeworld. Moughal had been rivals with the warrior Turghan and his lieutenants from other tribes.

Moughal considered himself a revolutionary, believing for the most part that woman should be treated far better than they were. Before SG-1 left, Samantha Carter fought Turghan in a battle to the death, but spared his life, giving Moughal a loophole to implement new rules for his people.
