The highest and most authoritative rank among the Talthuns. Before the planet Talthus was destroyed all of the Sovereigns, including Martice, evacuated on three ships bound for the world of Ardena, where they would lead some 3,000 survivors into a new era.
When the sleeper ship Stromos crashed and was found by SG-1, Sovereign Martice's consciousness was transferred into Daniel Jackson.
