Stargate haunts Vancouver this Halloween

The spooky village of the followers of the Ori is all dressed up for a special Halloween party this weekend! The crew of Stargate has opened up the massive indoor set to the public for the First Annual Film Industry Halloween Haunt, October 29 and 30.

Members of the BC Film Industry, MPPIA, Stargate, and The Bridge Studios are participating in the charity event, with all proceeds going to the B.C. Children’s Hospital. Halloween-lovers are touring the medieval-style village populated by frightening witches, zombies, and “creatures far beyond your darkest nightmares.”

The set was featured in the recent Stargate SG-1 episodes “Avalon, Part 2” and “Origin.” Parts of the set were redressed and used for episodes throughout the current season, including Atlantis‘s “Trinity.”

“The community does a lot for the film industry year-round — everything from allowing us to park trucks in front of their homes and stores, street closures, and covering neighbourhoods with artificial snow in July,” SG-1 executive producer N. John Smith told The Vancouver Sun. “This event is something we wanted to do to give back to our community, and it allows people to get a fun look at the kind of work the film industry does every day.”
