Basingstoke’s Stargate Guest List Expands With Jason Momoa, Torri Higginson, and More

Basingstoke Comic Con is shaping up to be the biggest Stargate event of 2024, with more than a dozen actors from the franchise set to appear at the London-area event.

We reported back in November that Basingstoke’s headliners will include the likes of Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping, and Joe Flanigan. Now three more Stargate Atlantis favorites have been added to the roster, along with the writer and producer who brought 17 seasons of Stargate to the small screen.

Organizers have announced that Torri Higginson (“Elizabeth Weir”) will appear at Basingstoke Comic Con, as will executive producer and co-creator Brad Wright. They will be joined by our favorite dual-Atlantean superhero Jason Momoa (“Ronon Dex,” Aquaman). And just announced is actor David Nykl, who portrayed the great Dr. Radek Zelenka in a recurring role.

The event takes place May 10-12, 2024, outside of London.

Momoa was cast on Stargate Atlantis for the show’s second season, and played the gruff but lovable Satedan warrior for four years. Higginson co-starred on Atlantis for the show’s first three seasons, returning in Season Four in a recurring role. Nykl is credited with appearances in 54 of the show’s 100 episodes, following his bow in the early Season One story “Thirty Eight Minutes.”

The convention will feature Q&A stage panels with the actors along with autograph and photo ops, and a chance to attend a VIP meet-and-greet.

It’s the biggest in-person reunion in years for the cast of Stargate Atlantis, and possibly since the show wrapped production back in 2008. The only main cast members missing here from the series’ 5-year run are Jewel Staite and Robert Picardo.

Basingstoke Comic Con will be held at the Hampshire Court Hotel, which is about 1 hour west of London (and 35 minutes from Heathrow Airport). This is the second Basingstoke Comic Con following the first in 2023, and the organizers state that the event independently financed.
