Diamond Select reveals second figure wave

With development on the first series of Stargate SG-1 action figures nearing completion, licensee Diamond Select Toys this week revealed to GateWorld the line-up for the second wave.

Seven-inch figures of Samantha Carter, Teal’c, Thor, and Black Ops Teal’c will be available later this year. Based on Diamond Select’s prototypes shown at this month’s Toy Fair industry convention, the figures will include several variants, including Teal’c with and without hair, green BDUs and desert camo gear for the two SG-1 team members, and more.

GateWorld has also learned that the second series will include spider-form Replicators (probably as accessories to the Thor figure), and possibly a Replicator Carter.

Images will be available following MGM’s approval of the new figure prototypes. The second series is tentatively slated for a September 2006 release.

Series 1 will feature Colonel Jack O’Neill, Dr. Daniel Jackson, a Serpent Guard, and General Jack O’Neill — including several uniform variants (images). The first figures will be available this spring at comic and specialty stores worldwide.
