New Stargate merchandise in 2007

After one movie, 10 years of Stargate SG-1 and three years of Stargate Atlantis, an abundance of new merchandise — including toys, props, and trading cards — are coming this year! Here’s an incomplete round-up of what fans will be watching for:

DIAMOND SELECT TOYS

The SG-1 Series 3 core set, due this April

Series 2 of the Stargate SG-1 action figures is currently available from DST and assorted retailers! This series features Lt. Colonel Samantha Carter, Teal’c, Thor, and the limited edition Black Ops Teal’c. Stargate and ramp segments are included with the first three figures.

Series 3, which features Lt. Colonel Cameron Mitchell, Vala, an Ori Prior, and the limited edition Black Ops Daniel, will be available on April 11. Pieces of the D.H.D. will be included with the first three figures.

In addition, Series 3 will include a special two-pack set of figures, Ascension Daniel and Anubis. This set is scheduled for release on May 15.

Apparently, there has been some problem with the Stargate and ramp pieces previously released. Diamond Select’s Web site has info on a replacement offer for those who received the wrong piece of the gate with the Series 2 Samantha Carter figure.

The first series of Stargate Atlantis action figures will be unveiled at this week’s Toy Fair convention. Series 1 will include Lt. Colonel John Sheppard, Dr. Elizabeth Weir, and a Wraith Male (story).

PHOENIX-ICON PEWTER FIGURINES

Their offerings include figurines of Mitchell, Carter, Jackson, Teal’c, O’Neill, and Jaffa warriors, as well as Stargate Atlantis figurines of Ronon, Weir, McKay, Sheppard, Teyla, and a Wraith.

Additionally, they have a number of sets of unpainted, unassembled, 28 mm pewter Jaffa warriors with various armament and costumes in multi-packs.

Check Phoenix-Icons.com for more details.

QUANTUM MECHANIX PROPS
This company of self-professed “prop geeks” promises to deliver various props such as Wraith Darts, F-302s, Al’kesh bombers, and more. A visit to the Web site QuantumMechanix.com, reveals that these items are coming soon.

STARGATE SG-1 COMMMORATIVE WATCH
A Stargate SG-1 tenth anniversary commemorative watch will be produced by Master Replicas. The watch face contains the Stargate logo while the bezel will form an iris cover over the logo and hands. With a limited edition run of 1000 units, each watch will cost $299. Shipping is expected to begin this spring.

STARGATE SG-1 SEASON NINE TRADING CARDS
Though ostensibly focused on the show’s ninth season, characters and material from other seasons are involved in the card set available on March 28. Each 40-pack box contains two autograph cards and one costume or relic (prop) card. There are 72 cards in the set and three cards covering each episode.

Autograph signers include Ben Browder, Lexa Doig, Matthew Bennett, Peter Flemming, Ernie Hudson, William B. Davis, Michael Ironside, Cameron Bright and Tony Todd.

There will be three new relic cards featuring pieces of actual show props, icluding an alien newspaper from “2001,” roses from “Chimera,” and alien documents form “Revisions.”

The nine new costume cards will include Mitchell’s black BDU pants from “The Fourth Horseman,” O’Neill’s shirt from “Avalon,” Jackson’s robes from “Orpheus” as well as his jeans and T-shirt from “Evolution,” and General Hammond’s dress pants.

Chase sets will come with an 18-card set of production sketches (one in ten packs), a 9-card set drawn from The Book of Origin (one in 20 packs), and a 9-card set of cast posters (one in 40 packs).

Publisher Rittenhouse Archives will release an official Season Nine collector’s album binder, as well. Each will come with 12 plastic sheets, a dual costume card (featuring Kali’s garb from “Last Stand”) and a binder-exclusive promo card featuring Teal’c.

Rittenhouse also offers Stargate SG-1 bobblehead figures. Jack O’Neill, Teal’c, Daniel Jackson, and Samantha Carter are still available.

This round-up, of course, is just a taste of what is coming this year! Watch GateWorld for the latest news on Stargate toys, props, novels, games, comic books, and more.
