The architecture is distinctly Ancient in origin, with the familiar spires of Atlantis, but the environment itself is very alien. Plasma and electrical discharges light the surface, with crystalline formations jutting out from below.
“One of the great things about working on Stargate Worlds is that there is so much rich material to draw up creatively,” Art Director Howard Lyon tells GateWorld. “This painting was a great example of that. We were able to build upon the strong foundation of the Ancient architecture to add a great amount of depth to a location unique to Stargate Worlds.”
Lyon spent several weeks developing this painting with consultation between the various department heads. The result is a template with which the art department may develop 100-square-meter maps filled with assets for the world. These maps comprise an “alpha pocket.”
StargateWorlds.com has also premiered the first concept art and screenshots of Tollana, both intact and destroyed, as well as a never-before-scene ice world. Visit here to view the images!
