The highly detailed and hand-painted fighter replica was created from the digital animation files used by the Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis visual effects team, and has a wingspan of eight inches. It comes with a 9×6-inch diorama of the Prometheus flight deck.
“Stargate has so many great ship designs, it was difficult to know where to start,” Andy Gore, project manager for QMx’s F-302, told GateWorld. “But several of us on the design team have a special fondness for the F-302 — not just the industrial design, which is awesome — but also that it was Earth’s first real space ship and that it was both Jack O’Neill’s and John Sheppard’s favorite ride.”
The ship made its first appearance in the SG-1 Season Six opener, “Redemption.”
“We originally planned to do something in ‘studio’ scale, maybe up to 16 inches wide,” Gore said. “The problem with that was it would have been several hundred dollars once complete, and we really wanted to make sure our first Stargate ships were as affordable as we could make them, without giving up any of the attention to detail that QMx is known for.”
Collectors hoping for a studio-scale vessel shouldn’t lose hope. “We’re thinking that studio scale will be just the ticket for some of the big ships from Stargate,” Gore said.
For fans of the 302, QMx is also selling a 17×22-inch technical specs poster for $14.95.

to hell with the 302s lol. What I have been waiting for and really want are models of the REAL ships, Prometheus, Daedalus, Ha'taak, Anubis's ship, Wraith hive ships, Ori ships, Asgard vessels, Ancient warships, Puddle-jumpers, and Atlantis itself, not action figures and things like the 302s. And mainly miniatures as well, not super expensive hand-painted dioramas. I've always thought the 302s and Death Gliders were simple, boring, inelegant, and unimpressive in design. And why do we not yet have models of the stargate? The closest I've seen so far is that ridiculous and very expensive mirror.
Agreed with what alteran1 has said, these dioramas are too expensive for most people so could we have them maybe like the Titanium series Star Wars and Battlestar ships, they are perfect for display cabinets too.
