SCI FI Channel will offer eager Stargate fans the very first peek at Stargate Universe, the franchise’s third live-action TV series, this Friday night!
An SGU preview will air during the 2-hour series finale of Battlestar Galactica, which airs from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on March 20.
MGM has also released a special countdown widget, which is currently ticking away the minutes till Friday night’s sneak peek (though it appears to be off right now). In the future the widget will also be used to deliver news and special content previewing Stargate Universe. Check it out below, and get the widget for Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Blogger, WordPress, LiveJournal, and a host of other sites at Stargate.MGM.com.
Tune in to SCI FI for the preview this Friday night, then come back here to talk about what you saw!

Oh, I don’t get the Sci-fi channel. I so badly would love to see this. Is there anyway possible for me to see it? Maybe online? I get all the shows off iTunes.
oh great, why SCIFI would ruin the last episode of BSG by running a preview of SGU? SGU is the “Enterprise” series for the Stargate series. It has better be good or else.

seriously Lord Ball? Ruin BSG finale by airing a preview? So… you’d rather watch Enzyte and ‘sell your gold for cash’ commercials than see a preview for the flagship franchise of the network?
um… Battlestar Galactica is in my opinion one of the most overrated shows ever. I’m not saying it isn’t good so there’s no need 2 tell me how ‘great’ it is (i’ve read it all before). It’s good but… Anyways – saying SGU is the ‘Enterprise’ of Stargate before the show ever airs is a bit of a leap. I grew up with the original Battlestar Galactica. I hate the way they changed it . I am only taping it to see the SGzU sneek peek .
I don’t have Sci Fi, but I am able to watch BSG on SPACE but I’m not sure if they’ll have the preview. God I hope so.

but according to the article, the preview is supposed to be shown tonight, yet the widget says it’s still more than 3 days away…
Battlestar is so overrated by the media I’m glad it’s almost over.

@TheCainer: Either the widget clock is way off, or it’s counting down to something happening on the MGM Web site Monday night at midnight. If it’s the latter, then the note about the Friday night preview below the clock is misleading.
I guess we shall know if the haters are right soon enough.
I’m not holding up hope, I’m not saying it’s going to be bad but if I have no expectation then I’m more likely to be pleasantly surprised.
I don’t think the show will ever be bad, but some of the more recent news makes me think it won’t quite be my cup of tea, I mean thought SGA season 4 was a tad too dark.
We shall see…
