Syfy.com has posted a series of new videos with a behind-the-scenes look at Stargate Universe! The first video focuses on interview snippets from the show’s cast, including Lou Diamond Phillips, Ming-Na, Brian J. Smith and others.
The video runs a little over four minutes. Check it out below, or head over to Syfy.com.
In the second video (two and a half minutes), the cast members answer the question “If you could take the Stargate anywhere, where would you go?”
In the third video (which you may have seen already), SGU co-creator Robert C. Cooper explains the premise of the show and the cast members introduce their characters. It runs nearly five minutes.
Stargate Universe premieres Friday, October 2 on Syfy! Check out GateWorld’s SGU Launch Center to find out more about the new series.
In that first video, timer above the door in the last scene… very Lost

…also very sci-fi/action in general and even Stargatey. SG-1 Fail Safe and SGA First Contacty comes to mind.
Was Lou Diamond Phillips taking a shot at Atlantis for being a poor recreation of what’s been done before? I LOVE IT!
Anyway, I’m looking forward to more Stargate and I think it’s way pass time for the crew to start writing a series like this. I just hope the cast develop great chemistry.
@Mrja84:
LDP didn’t say “poor recreation”. He said, “pale imitation” and he was referring to SGU itself not being the same exact thing that has came before. :P
Anyone else find it extremely funny that Alaina Huffman has only one appearance in that first video and it’s to say something so incredibly BS sounding for an actor to say if that’s the only thing they say?
I can’t wait to see SGU. Though I have so much hate towards the SyLi to me channel I will watch because good sci-fi is so hard to find. I just hope they promo the hell out of this show other than just on syfy channel. Everyone who loves sci-fi needs to know the show is coming.

Feels like her line was taken out of context, bad editing
WAAAAAAHH I want SGU now *pouts* This show seems like it’s gonna be so good.
Can’t wait for the EPICNESS of this show!
@rosey_angel and AscendedTauri.. hahahahaha, are you guys for real? or do you work for the network.. “gonna be so good”, “Epicness” ??? My 14yr old Daughter talks like that. hehehehe. Guess that’s what the audiance is going to be. a bunch of “Valley Girls”..
@US06154:
Who cares what they say or how they say it? They are excited for the show. They are expressing how they feel and they have a right to. That is all. Just like those who may not be excited for the show have a right to say so. Instead of acting like that and degrading them, write something else a bit more productive.
@orion Coran, dude, you’re so totally harshing my mellow, I’m so sure, the show’s gonna be sooo awesome, awesome to the max.. like..
@US06154:
Funny, considering that both posts you degraded only had one “valley girl” word, if you can call it that. “So” and “epicness”. Exaggerating your latest post much? (Not to mention the fact that it is less productive than your first post.)
OK, I USUALLY DONT DO STUFF LIKE THIS, BUT I HAVE BEEN HAVING MY HOPES AND DREAMS SOO HIGH THAT SCI-FI OR SOME CHANNEL WOULD GREEN LIGHT SOME MORE SEASONS OF STARGATE ATLANTIS. NOW I LOVVEE SCI-FI STUFF AND I ALWAYS HAVE, RARELY DO I FEEL A SHOW LIKE I FELT THIS ONE, IM A GROWN MAN AND WHEN I SAW RONAN DOWN AND I THOUGHT THEY KILLED HIM OFF, IT ACTUALLY BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES!!! THE CONNECTION WITH ALL CAST MEMBERS ARE VERY UNIQUE ESPECIALLY WHEN JOHN FOUND OUT, IT WAS SOO DEEP AND HEARTFELT!!WHERE ELSE CAN YOU… Read more »
