Looking forward to it, nice to see them on another planet to be honest.

I hope that was sarcasm since you only see a bare back.

Is this another setup for more of Chloe’s and Scott’s promo shots? We’ll know after it’s put on every fansite out there. I know Chloe’s already signed on with Maxim.

Sg1/Atlantis never had to resort to this sort of cheese.

Chloe in the water… Does that mean that something will jump out and try to bite her so that she can run around naked and play the damsel in distress again? ;) I mean, there’s the strong, studly Lt. Scott to the rescue, after all… For some reason I find it incredibly funny, like a cheesy romance novel XD

I have no idea what the ep will be about but that’s the first thing that popped up in my mind when I saw the picture.

hmmm sounds a little similar to the STO episode “Shore Leave”. Will there be a white rabbit, knights, and Finnegan?

Looks like a good episode, but I’m more interested in the religious aspects they’ve been talking about. Granted those are hard to put in a little promo.

: That isn’t actually nudity just so you know?

: That is separate from the show itself and those other shows had their own kind of ‘cheese’.

: If you go rooting around deep enough you’ll find *some* similarity to something else no matter how vague.

It’ll be interesting to find out why the countdown clock didn’t start…or if the characters even figure out why. Wouldn’t be surprised if Rush didn’t figure out some way to stop it in order to get some of the people to want to get off the ship and stay behind. Sounds like it’s going to be an interesting episode.

Episode Pros: They actually got a break for once Less Drama Episode Cons: Whiney Chloe (honestly, kill her off, please.) Pregnant doc alien worshiper The episode was light on drama, which is good. Some nice shots of actual landscape, again, good. People starting to look like the vague outline of a crew, distant future but I suspect its started. On to the cons. Again, whiny (and starting to get bitchey) Chloe. Pregnant Doc, really? That had to be thrown in there this early? Why couldn’t we have explored her and Young’s relationship some more rather then getting a baby involved… Read more »

Having just watched the episode, and having hated the first half of season one more then I can possibly say, I have to admit I liked it. It continues the trend of season 1.5 episodes being of a substantially higher quality in terms of plot and character development.

Well done!

in the US was/is that Bill Clintion/Intern Mouth thingi also no Sex.

As I know in US bare skin in that scale will for 90% of Redneks call Nudeity but hey

Why did SG1 and SGA, B5 and other good SF Shows dont need it?

Another episode that I just LOVED, and it didn’t even have any action in it what so ever, but it still felt like good old stargate. As for the posters above who already seem to be bashing the episode before even seeing based on chloe being in the water.. OK that makes perfect sense :S It was there for all of 2 seconds. One aspect of the show though that is really starting to annoy me is the camera work, they really should cut back on the shakey cam and use it sparingly, because its really grating on me, Its… Read more »

There was a nude scene? I watched the episode and didn’t see it? Hmm. I’ll have to watch it again.Who was nude. Not Chloe in the water – please, you just saw her back and even that was so far a distance, it could have been anything. I saw no nudity at all.Weird to focus on that anyway.

What’s happened to the GATEWORLD FAN POLL? Did I miss something about that as well, as I didn’t see it for Divided at all.

Good episode again. I agree about the deliberate shaky cam. Not necessary for realism.

The pregnant thing has been done, by both previous shows actually. Yes I realize the actress was pregnant, but what, the writers or crew couldn’t think of a clever way to hide it? Oh well, it’s there now. Wonder if it’ll be a boy or a girl? I’m leaning towards girl.

But, aside from this, I suprisingly found this to be one of the better episodes. Hope it keeps up.

Regarding the ‘nudity’…seriously? You’re calling that nudity? You can see far more at a public pool than what they showed. I too thought from the picture that it was going to be a gratuitous scene, but they actually handled it well. It was secondary to the scene, really. While I wouldn’t say that it was necessary, I also wouldn’t say it was out of place. Really, it’s the marketing department that made it seem like it was anything more than a passing moment and that was just them doing their job. That aside, I can’t decide if I liked this… Read more »

I quite liked this episode, was nice seeing them on another planet and it was more upbeat and less dark than other episodes have been thus far. Its good to end on a happy note every once in a while even in a series of this type. I’m curious about just how many people decided to stay behind in the end (if any), even if some did stay why did Chloe come back? I’m glad they decided to explore a little more of the Destiny but would have liked to of seen a little more of what they found and… Read more »

As sad as it sounds I hope that TJ loses the baby since it would allow good development for the character aswell as avoiding an actual baby on the Destiny which didn’t work out well in Atlantis in my opinion.

@Gaeth: Since the episode was titled Faith, do you really think Any kind of faith was covered? what was the connection to Faith? There was an Obelisk that looked like Washington’s Monument. This reference is too similar to Arthur C. Clarke’s Space Odyssey. If the Pyramids were used to land G’oauld Hatak(?) class ships, I’d hate to think what was supposed to land on this thing, that looks like a giant privates of the male sex. Why would Chloe stay behind all alone on the planet, when her sex interest (I definitely wont call it love interest) Scott is holding… Read more »

: you should be ashamed. Obviously you dont have children. Don’t even joke about it. One of my fellow employees lost his new born daughter who was less than a week old. The doctors decided to pull out life support yesterday, saying that the baby had way too much brain damage. It’s one thing to talk about promiscuous and idiotic characters biting the dust, but not innocent infants and children (if they are not knife wielding chuckies)

@mods: how did Tanith’s comment “As sad as it sounds I hope that TJ loses the baby since it would allow good development for the character ” get past moderation? S/He is condoning the loss of a life, “to better the Charactor deveopment?”

Scott Watson

I don’t see a problem with the comment since if TJ did lose the baby it would have an emotional impact that would stay with TJ and shape her character.

@Scott Watson, I agree. Shows that have “young” children on it hardly work out, it just becomes campy. And before anyone mentions BSG the way they handled Hera was actually the smart way to do it, you hardly saw her as a baby and when she was more involved she was a 3-4 year old. @katebekett, Um, they have done that before. BSG for an example, ie Saul and Caprica 6’s unborn child and that pregnancy was a result of incest (and pointed out as such by Ellen). And in the end, it’s a TV show. For you to have… Read more »

Not that I agree about it adding to the show (Suffering isn’t necessary for character development. Not everyone wallows in misery.) I think we need to remember that we’re talking about characters on a show here and that no one’s suggesting that this happen to her actual child. I do think having her pregnant is a bad idea but at the same time, the last thing that SGU needs is to add more sadness and/or sap. Only the last few episodes have left me not hoping that the Destiny just came apart and took the whole lot out. I still… Read more »

@katebekett: She didnt look at Eli and think that. She gave him that look because he said “welcome home” and she, among others, dont see the destiny as home and she just came from a “perfect” planet that reminded her and everybody else of their real home, Earth. Destiny is kind of hell when you think about it, okay if you could travel between it and Earth, but they have more or less constant darkness, lightbulbs dont count. So to experience a planet that is as close to earth as that one was, be there for a month and then… Read more »

It’s nice to see the show seems to be picking up with the second half of the season. Shame Chloe and Scott weren’t left behind on the planet though. Hope there will be future revelations about that alien race that allegedly created the planet and stuff.

HillshireFarm

I Agree, those aliens should be touched on. However in regards to leaving them, it’d have been better if it was just Chloe. Scott is a decent character with much potential. I find he could be courageous and heroic if he weren’t constantly whipped.

I agree with you, that the soap elements are dominant in SGU. That is what makes SGU bad in my opinion.

katebekett

I have a feeling that Scott might be missing his child, and Since TJ is preggers now, his affections might shift to her. After all, Chloe is as trustworthy as yesterday’s mushy fruit. Plus Chloe may actually hook up with Rush, because they shared a kidnap crisis. Scott is not “married”, and technically unattached, and he’s military.

i hadnt thought about that katebeket, maybe that explains why TJ and scott only just got all close now when scott knew she was pregnant!! i’m not sure about chloe and rush though, i dont know but that just seems wrong! and chloe would be crazy, scott is hot lol. but then she did give rush a strange look after he rescued her from the fish tank so maybe! by the way psw i think the soap elements are what makes sgu good, its different, its nice that i can finally watch a show like this without being bored out… Read more »

From reading the comments you left here I’ve gotten a sense of just how far Stargate has fallen from where it used to be. The only word that comes to mind is “yuck!”.

katebekett

@mistergroenevingers: Why do you say Stargate has Fallen? I think it’s wonderful that we are getting to know these people intimately. All their flaws, and seemingly unredeamable qualities. Sure Scott is a sexaholic, Young is a married man having extra marital relationship,TJ is the “other woman”, now pregnant. Chloe seems to get tossed around like a fart in a storm. Greer’s the maniac ready to off someone. Bald guy offed himself off. Rush is a lunatic, who tried to frame Young. But these things are evolving and it’s those little things that makes it so watchable. I mean what’s the… Read more »

I must say I was a bit surprised that Chloe went skinny-dipping, and Scott was trying to look like he was not peeping. These people just decided to do stuff without a moments thought. Greer ate some alien fruit, Chloe went swimming in a pool of lord knows what, but looked like water. TJ turned from Medic-able-to-do-brain-surgery-with-swiss-army-knife to a qualified Botanist, able to identify alien plants for Herbal/ Medicinal value. If that is not entertainment, I dont know what is.

@katebekett First of all, I like the character in Castle that shares your name. ;) Regarding Stargate, not every episode was about facing bad guys and fighting and visiting planets and making first contacts. But let us not start ‘fighting’ about this matter again. Sure there are aspects about characters in SGU that are interesting but for how long. I mean after you’ve seen it once you already know all the stuff about the characters and then what do you have left for your enjoyment? I see very little replay value in it. There are some very very interesting things… Read more »
