New SGU Season Two episode titles!

As fans recover from last month’s stunning season finale, production on Stargate Universe is plowing through its second season in Vancouver, British Columbia.  Filming is around the mid-point of the season, which premieres this fall.

Executive producer Joseph Mallozzi continues to keep fans in-the-know at his blog. This weekend he revealed the titles of more upcoming episodes, including the Season Two finale!  These final episodes of next season are still in the script-writing stage, so of course they are subject to change.

Here’s the run-down for the second half of the season, with the newest titles in bold:

#211 – Deliverance
212 – Twin Destinies
213 – Alliances
214 – Hope
215 – Seizure
216 – The Hunt
218 – Radio
219 – Blockade
220 – Gauntlet

“Radio” may be bumped or retitled, since Mallozzi mentioned it in a previous entry but did not include it in the full season list Saturday.  Check out the complete list of episodes in GateWorld’s Season Two guide.

SGU‘s sophomore year promises to expand on the mythology of the Destiny and her mission, while sticking with the series’ established tone of dark character drama that seeks to portray a more raw and realistic look at human beings.

Season Two is sure to bring more off-ship adventure for the crew. From "Lost"

“We’re definitely ‘fleshing out the main characters’ (and those ‘side characters,’ as well) in the show’s second season and, with that, demonstrating that these people are far from perfect,” Mallozzi said.  “And, as Brad already alluded to in a recent interview, we will be taking advantage of the gritty realism to go to some pretty dark places in the coming season.

“There’ll be plenty of ‘crazy’ to go around in SGU’s second year and, yes, many of those questions will be answered or, at the very least, explanations will be hinted at as we use them to build some bigger arcs.  We’ll be doing more exploring and more adventuring, both on and off Destiny.”

Season Two of Stargate Universe is expected to premiere either the last week of September or the first week of October on Syfy Channel in the U.S. — on its new night, Tuesdays.  Stick with GateWorld all summer long for our continuing coverage of SGU and the entire Stargate franchise!

  • Sounds brilliant i love this show sooooooo much. I really want to see more of the blue aliens and maybe others!!!

  • Cannot wait for the 2nd season! I watched SGA's "Sanctuary" the other night, and it just made me realize again how the acting on SGU is on a whole different level. The 1 word titles are also nice, since they really don't give away much.

  • lol @ "As fans recover from last month’s stunning season finale," more like as fans wake up from nodding off at the lame story! We've seen far too much of really very boring characters who I can't like or dislike. Focus on scifi adventure plots this season! Then we might have something to recover from next season finale

  • Brought series 1 on DVD last week and have now watched the whole season 3 times. I love it and hope it lasts for many years to come. Great stories, good characters (except one, Camile Wray whos got a serious lack of control issue) and excellent CGI. Keep it coming people

  • I hope they explore more "creation myths". I just realized after re-watching some of their best episodes, SG-1, SGA, SGU.. even the movie was "best" when exploring where they came from.

Challenging our ideas of where we came from.

Destiny might do best to be exploring the origins of the Ancients themselves.

Perhaps that's why the project was abandoned.

Not because of ascension.. but because what started the mission fell out of favor with their culture.

Remember the story of Babylon, the dare, the challenge to touch Heaven?

Destiny's Icarus could have been a notion that something across the Universe might hint at their origins.. or perhaps they thought they found something so tantalizing.. they felt they had to build Destiny.. Inter Galactic Astronomers discovered a Snow Flake galaxy perhaps? Or a signal? Something that enticed them.. scared them.. or dared them to go see?

What if they discovered the ends of the Universe, and that's what drove them to ascension.. and now Tari are left to face.. what the Ancients could not.
