In spite of a notice that still indicates that new episodes of Stargate Universe won’t be on Hulu until 30 days after their first broadcast on Syfy Channel, the two newest installments of the show are now available for free online viewing in the U.S.
We’re not sure if this is an oversight, or if rights to the show have indeed been freed up for the final 10 episodes. New episodes air on Syfy Monday nights at 10/9c — so we’ll be watching Hulu on Tuesday to see if this week’s “Alliances” shows up.
Hulu offers the five latest episodes of SGU, currently also including the November episodes “Malice,” “Visitation,” and “Resurgence.”
If you don’t want to wait for Hulu or put up with ads, new episodes can also be purchased for $2.99 ($1.99 in standard definition) at Amazon.com and iTunes.
In the meantime, watch “Deliverance” and “Twin Destinies” — a timeline-altering episode that seems to already be a fan favorite — while they last:
DELIVERANCE (SGU #211)
TWIN DESTINIES (SGU #212)
While its great that its on hulu even though I don’t use hulu, of course this will further hurt live ratings…though I’m not sure how many people still use hulu, I haven’t used it in almost a year.
Lots of people “still” use Hulu. Why wouldn’t we?
I’m not sure if this is foreshadowing an online distribution model for Stargate, or that the franchise will indeed go dark.
I am pretty sure the first 2 episodes go to hulu next day, next 8 will have 30 day delay…Was like this for the first half, and I think other SyFy shows are also posted this way as well.
In all seriousness, the ratings don’t mean anything at all anymore, the show’s been cancelled, and there are a fair few avoiding SyFy due to their mistreatment of the SG franchise.
I cannot view Hulu as I am in Australia, but I have always said the networks should offer freely downloadable episodes with ads intact,as a legal option of course to illegal downloading, then include those figures in the ratings.
I hope they can find a solution, as good quality, and mature Scifi is dead until they do.
I should have added, I would gladly pay $3 or thereabouts to download a hi-def episode of SGU, providing a season 3 or some solution happens.
I hate stargate universe but I might watch during a slow time at work on my personal laptop rather than do nothing or eat lunch with out watching anything.
I only watched season 1 and none of season 2 I will see if it is less horrible now on hulu.
And if you live in a place that don’t have Hulu use a proxy server in the USA and Hulu will have no clue where you are only where the proxy is located.
The TOR network has alot of free proxy but very low bandwith and speed from this method.
(also from Australia) I think what media websites like Hulu, iTunes, Amazon, etc are now showing is that there is a clear market for direct-to-web (or whatever it may be called). The growth of these sites in recent times is not debilitating for shows like SGU it’s just the poor management by their PR department to realise other avenues to achieve maximum viewership/sales. It has to be realised tv is not the only source of entertainment media. MGM should exploit this, move their content to the internet, and emphasise online sales more than time consuming expensive physical copies. If the… Read more »
OK, this is seriously annoying… massive SG fan, including SGU, but i live in England! Sky1 it says ‘ep.11 coming soon…’ and you guys in the US are on ep.12?!?!?!?! and it wont let me stream on the above links as im outside the US… god this is killing me! i just wanna watch it! :( anyone have news on this?
People uploading episodes on youtube doesnt help the show either, but Guys,I have a question, What Exactly would happen if Destiny Goes into FTL While in A Star?!?! Would it blow up,would it jump out somewhere insanly far from where it jumped in,or whats your thoughts on about that?
Hey,Gateworld Crew,Remember the old Gateworld, when it was all black with green background and etc… it was somewhere near season 6 in SG-1, Well,I used the waybackmachine website, and check this video out,it shows gateworld back in like 2003 i think, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6IDVBjTOR8
Yep all that metters is US viewership stuff the rest of the world. Screw the fans around the world who would want to watch the show and then complain when the show gets downloaded without providing an alternative real good.
@StargateDominator – Since there’s been no real explanation of the FTL drive beyond it simply making the ship go ‘faster than light’ and since matter traveling faster than light isn’t possible in any current physical model, there isn’t much to base even a hypothetical guess off of. Basically, we don’t have science from the show or from our own world to work from. Based purely on the ship being able to travel through a star and survive, though, it would likely have little to no effect on the ship. It could, however, potentially destroy the star. Since the ship would… Read more »
MSEagle2 is right, only the first 2 episodes on the last half of S2 are currently available. Which is a shame because I don’t have cable and was actually current with Stargate for 2 glorious weeks, now I will be a month behind again.
Which brings me to my second point, I am one of many fans whose viewership does not count on ratings. Can Gateworld do a poll to find out what percentage of fans do not have access to SGU when it airs on cable?
