Mallozzi and Mullie’s Delete mini-series now casting

A new, 4-hour mini-series from Stargate writers Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie is heading into production, with actor Seth Green just announced as part of the cast.

Delete is a science fiction mini-series about what happens when the World Wide Web becomes self-aware and turns on the human race.  “Faced with extinction, there is only one way out, to create a second artificial intelligence that’s equally alive, intelligent and dangerous,” according to a press release.

The series is now filming in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Brightlight Pictures is producing and Sonar Entertainment distributing, but no network is attached to air the series just yet. Steve Barron is directing the project.

Green (Robot Chicken, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will play “Lucifer,” who the actor describes as “a hacker activist, a cross between Gene Hackman in Enemy of the State and Julian Assange.  He’s distrustful of the government and an advocate for humanity who saw the AI coming and tried to stop it early on.”

Delete also stars Keir Gilchrist (United States of Tara), Matt Frewer (Eureka), Janet Kidder (Continuum), Erin Karpluk (Being Erica), Gil Bellows (Ally McBeal), and Ryan Robbins (Sanctuary, and “Ladon Radim” on Stargate Atlantis).
