Stargate SG-1: The Drift novel now available

We’ve been eagerly awaiting the follow-up to Diana Dru Botsford’s Stargate SG-1 novel Four Dragons, and now it’s here!

Stargate SG-1: The Drift is available now at Amazon and StargateNovels.com.

The new novel picks up one year where 2010’s Four Dragons left off. Here’s how the publisher describes the story:

With Earth’s Ancient weapons chair at the center of an international dispute, Dr. Daniel Jackson is sent to Antarctica to sooth diplomatic tensions. Meanwhile, General Jack O’Neill reluctantly takes charge of a radical new weapons chair training program.

But when a natural disaster hits Antarctica, the future of the Ancient outpost – and of Earth itself – is thrown into jeopardy. Yet again, Earth’s fate lies in the hands of SG-1, but this time the team are lost and powerless to help.

Trapped within a strange reality, SG-1 encounter old friends and enemies as they struggle to escape and stop the Ancient cataclysm that’s threatening to destroy the planet.

Botsford teaches screenwriting at Missouri State University, produced this year’s science fiction Web series Epilogue, and currently can be heard co-hosting the GateWorld Podcast. To do hands-on research for The Drift, she took a unique trip to Antarctica itself.

Read the prelude to get a taste of the story, and don’t miss our recent writer’s panel podcast in which Diana discusses both of her SG-1 novels, along with GateWorld’s David Read and Stargate novelist Melissa Scott.

Scott’s forthcoming title Ourobouros is due from Fandemonium in early 2013. But next up for the SG-1 tie-in novels is Moebius Squared, which Scott co-wrote with Jo Graham. It hits digital shelves next month.

Amazon has the Kindle edition of The Drift ($4.99), with the paperback edition currently exclusive to publisher Fandemonium’s StargateNovels.com ($10.95). Other ebook formats are available from Crossroads Press.
