Former Stargate Atlantis co-star Jason Momoa will welcome a familiar face to the set of his big-screen superhero film Aquaman.
Actor Michael Beach has been cast in the DC Comics tent pole film, in which Momoa stars as the titular hero, Arthur Curry. Beach will play Jesse Kane, “part of a group of high-seas hijackers who has a fateful interaction with Aquaman,” according to Variety.
Beach played the recurring role of U.S.S. Apollo commander Abraham Ellis on Stargate Atlantis. More recently he’s had turns on The 100 and Pitch. He also had a recurring role on Sons of Anarchy.
Momoa will return as Aquaman first in Justice League, opening November 17, 2017. His solo film is currently shooting in Australia for a December 21, 2018 release.
Directed by James Wan, Aquaman also stars Amber Heard (as Mera), Willem Dafoe (Nuidis Vulko), Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (Black Manta), Dolph Lundgren (King Nereus), Patrick Wilson (Ocean Master), Temuera Morrison (Tom Curry), and Nicole Kidman (Atlanna).
