Jason Momoa’s period drama Frontier is coming back for another season.
Netflix and Discovery Canada have renewed the series for a third season of six episodes, Deadline reports. It will premiere in 2018.
Set in eighteenth-century North America, Frontier follows a group of ruthless fur traders fighting to wrest control of the trade from the powerful Hudson Bay Company. Jason plays Declan Harp, a part-Irish and part-native American outlaw.
Landon Liboiron (Hemlock Grove), Alun Armstrong (Braveheart), Zoe Boyle (Sons of Anarchy), Jessica Matten (A Red Girl’s Reasoning), Allan Hawco (Republic of Doyle) and Katie McGrath (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) also star.
Momoa played Ronon Dex on Stargate Atlantis for four seasons.
Also coming up for Jason is the superhero feature film Aquaman, focusing on the origins story of his character seen in this year’s Justice League.
“You just slowly see this man harden up and be completely reluctant wanting to be king and not knowing what to do with these powers he has. I think [director] James Wan just killed it.”
Aquaman opens December 21, 2018.
In the meantime, Frontier‘s first two seasons are streaming now on Netflix!
