Stargate: Timekeepers Reveals Are Coming This Week

UPDATE: Joseph Mallozzi will be unable to attend this week’s Slitherine livestream. Instead the game publisher has added SG-1 co-star Amanda Tapping to the show.

UPDATE #2: Amanda has had to step away due to work commitments. Joining the Thursday livestream instead will be her Stargate SG-1 co-star Michael Shanks! The original story follows …

This week marks the 29th anniversary of the original Stargate feature film, and Slitherine Games is celebrating the movie and the universe it spawned with a livestream event — which will also finally bring fans some new intel on the publisher’s forthcoming video game, Stargate: Timekeepers.

Slitherine is inviting Stargate fans to the event this Thursday, October 26 (starting at 10 a.m. PT, 1 p.m. ET, and 6 p.m. BT), “where we will talk and celebrate the Stargate universe and we will unveil really important news regarding the upcoming Stargate: Timekeepers.”

That will include just when players will be able to get their hands on the new PC strategy game, which has been in development for more than two years. Earlier this year Timekeepers was given a fall window, with plans to release the first seven of the game’s 14 missions. (Don’t worry — Part 2 will also be included in the purchase of the game.)

Stargate: Timekeepers‘s first mission will see players navigating the icy remains of Anubis’s fleet in Antarctica.

In addition to talking more about the game Slitherine will play host to some special guests to celebrate the legacy of Stargate: writer and executive producer Joseph Mallozzi, long-time Stargate director Martin Wood, and GateWorld’s own managing editor and fan Darren Sumner. They will also be joined by Robert Brown, writer of Stargate: Timekeepers.

The game is a real-time tactics adventure, with players taking on the role of Colonel Eva McCain and her team as they fight Goa’uld forces and are swept up in a time-travel adventure. The story picks up in the aftermath of Stargate SG-1‘s seventh season finale, “Lost City” (which Wood directed), after the Battle of Antarctica.

Look for the livestream this Thursday on Slitherine’s Twitch channel, and stick with GateWorld for breaking news about when you can finally play Timekeepers!

  • Knowing Joe Mallozzi pitched the fan favourite timeloop episode Window of Opportunity and him being announced for this celebration make me wonder if Slitherine consulted him for the story of Stargate: Timekeepers. Can't wait for this week's panel, the story trailer and to finally play the finished product!
