Stargate’s U.S.S. Hammond Model Will Be A Collectors Club Exclusive

Master Replicas has announced that it will release a model of the U.S.S. George Hammond, one of the Stargate television franchise’s signature ships. The ship made several appearances on Stargate Universe under the command of Colonel Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping).

There’s a catch for those who have been building their fleet of Stargate models, though: the Hammond will be an exclusive offering for Master Replicas’ newly announced paid collectors club.

The Collectors Club will launch December 15, with a price tag of $99.00 USD (£89 UK, €99 EU). That comes with a 10% discount on all purchases through 2024; 24-hour early access to all new products; access to six special online events with show runners and special guests; and — most importantly for completionists — access to buy a set of exclusive ships for Stargate, Star Trek, Doctor Who, The Expanse, The Orville, Foundation, and other genre favorites.

Announced so far as Collectors Club exclusives are the Hammond, along with the Fourth Doctor’s TARDIS and the Tachi from The Expanse. Our understanding is that the club membership will not come with any free models, but that these items will be available for purchase exclusively to members.

U.S.S. Daedalus model

The first two of the club exclusive ships (still to be announced) will be available on January 1.

While details on the Hammond‘s design haven’t been revealed yet, we anticipate that the company will follow the fictional universe and stick with the existing molds for the Daedalus. On television the Hammond was the sixth Daedalus-class deep space carrier, following the Daedalus, Odyssey, Apollo, Korolev, and (not seen on screen) the Sun Tzu. The ships are functionally identical on screen (though the Odyssey did get those sweet Asgard core upgrades), differing only in the ship’s name emblazoned on the hull.

The Hammond was originally slated to be christened “Phoenix,” but was renamed in honor of the late Major General George Hammond — first commander of Stargate Command, played by the great Don S. Davis.

Master Replicas previously told GateWorld that it plans to release additional Daedalus-class ship models (noting at the time that these may be limited editions or exclusives).

The original Daedalus model was the first in the “Hero Collector” series from Eaglemoss, released in 2021. That company released three Stargate models before going out of business. The Daedalus quickly sold out and was hard to find for a couple of years, until Master Replicas acquired those original molds and produced new units earlier this year.

Since then Master Replicas has signed its own license for the franchise and picked up where Eaglemoss left off. Five ships are now available, with the Prometheus shipping in January. Other new ships, prop replicas, and figures for the Stargate license are expected starting next spring.

  • It is too expensive. If anyone want to be a ship collectors' membership then they don't care about any online events. There is no free model included, because I personally could have considered an extra +20GBP next to the regular model price. And even the Hammond looks like the Daedalus what I already have got. So I am not happy as this greedy step sends a wrong competitive message to the fans while they haven't showed the quality of their first own product (the Prometheus) yet. It is also a strange business model if the main benefit is the 24 hours early access. Collect money from pre-orders, but please produce enough ships. It feels they want to max out their profit margine without own investment.

  • Well, we're getting the Puddle Jumper, Beliskner, Wraith Dart, Destiny and her shuttle, which makes 9 ships including the 4 exclusives. 10% discount on 9 items including early access seems fair enough for a monthly 8,25 EUR. I have decided to cancel Disney+ 😈 so I can have this instead. Just don't make all Stargate exclusives Daedalus paintjob variants!
