Russian Lieutenant assigned to Stargate Command, along with Colonel Zukhov. The Russian team intended to visit P2X-338 to discover the fate of a previous Russian Stargate team that visited the planet.
Along with SG-1 the team found an ancient ziggurat, and when the structure appeared to be collapsing Marchenko foolishly placed himself underneath a closing door in the hopes of escaping. He was crushed to death.
