Second-class security guard of Cicero's museum on P4M-328. Saran always wanted to serve on the Council's guard, but mistakes he made when he was young damaged his record. He was on guard at the museum for ten years prior to SG-1's visit.
Saran took matters into his own hands when a band of "rebels" had taken museum receptionists hostage. He successfully captured two members of SG-1, but was double-crossed by Cicero when his colleague freed the prisoners behind his back.
SG-1 eventually managed to escape back through the great ring. Chief Negotiations Officer Quartus intended to cover up the extraterrestrial visit. History would record Jayem Saran killing the rebels and saving all the hostages.
