The first flight, flown by Jack O'Neill and Samantha Carter, was a failure, but later the craft, re-designated Star Flight, was successful in creating a brief hyperspace jump, enough to fly the Antarctic Stargate far enough from Earth to prevent Anubis's super-weapon from annihilating the planet.
